Used Engine Warranty

Warranty must be registered at usedenginepart.com within 7 days of the delivery of your engine. If warranty is used by the customer for any reason, then purchased part must be returned to the location it was shipped from. Original install and repair receipts are needed prior to considering any warranty claim. Whereverthe term ‘used engine’ is mentioned on the website, it shall mean a used engine assembly. This will include: Basic Block, Cylinder Heads, and Internal Components.

1. At usedenginepart.com, warranty for used engines is limited to manufacturing defects only. This includes: Block Heads, Crank-Shaft, Cam-Shaft, Rockers, & other internal small parts. Attached parts like Sensors, Switches, cables, turbo, electronics, belts, hoses, water pumps, gaskets, manifolds, brackets, oil plan, fly wheel, wire harness, valve covers etc. are not covered in the warranty.
2. Refunds are only allowed when there is no replacement for the engine, from our end.
3. We are not responsible for any charges related to labor costs and improper engine installation.
4. If the payment was processed and the order was canceled, user will have to bear the credit/debit card processing fee.
5. During warranty period all canceled and returned parts will be subjected to 25% fee, for restocking and handling unless replacement is authorized by us.
6. It’s to be noted that no guarantees are given for outside appearance of the engines
7. We reserve the right to charge reasonable fee related to your warranty claim
8. Deposits made to us are non-refundable unless otherwise noted.
9. The mileage stated is approximate and closest to the real value, with best of our knowledge.
10. Any towing, transportation or shipping charges outside of the delivery will not be assumed by used engine part.
11. We would encourage you to inspect all the parts before signing on delivery.
12. OEM parts are interchangeable.
13. We will not be responsible for any labor cost applied by the customer, unless an arrangement is made before the purchase.

Engine warranty Requirements

Following information needs to be submitted before one makes the claim for the warranty:

1. Diagnostic report provided by the ASE certified facility, identifying the problem, projected repair cost.
2. Diagnostic report must include: Date, VIN,Detailed Vehicle Information, Current mileage, Diagnostic codes, computerized receipts; Replacement parts needed. No handwritten record/receipt will be accepted.
3. Initial installation and all the maintenance records must be included at the time of the warranty claim is filed.
4. Purchaser cannot perform their own maintenance for product warranty requirements
5. The required maintenance should not be done by a service facility owned or operated by the purchaser.

Warranty will be Void if:

1. Custom parts installed do not come under warranty
2. Only one time claim per product will be given for parts purchased from us.
3. If Engine is not installed within 14-days of delivery.
4. If engine is used for racing.
5. If it is abused I.e. used for commercial or industrial use.
6. If vehicle is modified outside of manufacturer specification, in any way.
7. If engine was used without proper lubrication (engine oil).
8. If engine was used without a cooling system, required by it.
9. If engine is returned with the heat tabs missing or melted
10. If engine was repaired due to any misuse or accident
11. If any part of the engine was replaced due to any reason or accident.
12. If engine was disassembled or altered in any way without written authorization by usedenginepart.com. This should be a computerized printed paper, no hand written paper will be considered valid.
13. If any accessory is applied to the engine which is not recognized by Original Manufacturer (OEM)
14. If the use of vehicle is not discontinued once the problem or issue has been identified and reported.
15. If all the documents needed for warranty claim are not submitted within 5 business days.
16. If the claim is not submitted prior to any work being performed by the technician.
17. Falsifying any type of info during your purchase will make a wrong part delivered to you, which will nullify the warranty.
18. If there is oil leaks/damage on engines due to seals, gaskets and filters.
19. If engine is not installed properly (Pre-installation list is given below).

NOTE: all the above mentioned points are Beyond Warranty, as in warranty will not be rewarded in any of the 19 points explained above.

Installation Procedure Requirements.

To ensure uninterrupted service from your used engine, these checks should be applied:

1. Check for compatibility of the replacement engine
2. Before installation, clear all computer diagnostic codes.
3. Install new thermostat and gasket.
4. Replace hoses, clamps, belts, timing belt and replace a water pump.
5. Remove all cap-plugs and orifice covers
6. Install new spark plugs and wires.
7. Exchange the flywheel and bolts.
8. Exchange other accessory items i.e. mount, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, distributor and sensors) to ensure a proper fit.
9. For engines with oil cooler, radiator or external cooler must be replaced.
10. Drain excess oil and coolant from exhaust system.
11. Replace all filters like oil filters, air filters, fuel filters and coolant (anti-freeze).
12. Ensure cooling system is properly flushed and optimally working.
13. To allow the oil to prime, please disable fuel/ignition before attempting to start the engine.
14. New thermostat must be installed.
15. New timing belt should be installed, if applicable to the engine.

Parts change over accessories and wear and tear items left on the engine block is for convenience only and are not covered under warranty. These accessories may save some time during installation; however the professional installer is responsible for the parts and parts exchange.

Limited Financial Obligation

Usedenginepart.com does not assume any liability associated with labor costs, replacement of engine oil, transmission fluid and antifreeze, or damage to other engine parts or components towing charges, telephone calls, freight, lost profits, lost time, substitute transportation or replacement vehicle or any other consequential damages. We assume no responsibility for any failure resulting from a modification of the product, improper installation, incompatible parts or abnormal use of operation. For most used automobiles, odometer mileage is regulated by the state and federal laws. But as this is not possible for used engines for obvious reasons because they are often sold and/or transferred apart from the original vehicle in which they were originally installed. Hence all the representations of mileage are accurate estimates.
